Do they think we're stupid?

So a hacker has uncovered proof that the scientists behind the crazy global warming fad of the 2000s were scamming everyone. The e-mails uncovered show scientists deliberately covered up proof that their claims were false and forcefully suppressed any dissension. In any normal and rational world Americans would demand that the government cut the $64 billion it's committed to "green" projects and run Al Gore out of the country. That, unfortunately will not happen.

Even as this story was breaking (and I say breaking loosely because the national news sure hasn't been doing much about it yet) another group of scientists was issuing another meaningless warning about climate change. The new report says global temperatures continue to climb at a pace in line with projections. While at the same time we have e-mails from scientists showing that they were actively trying to cover up the fact that temperatures have been holding steady or dropping.

So what will happen? Even though it's so obvious that the global warming hysteria was built on a tower of lies, Democrats will continue to shout from the mountain tops that the world will come to an end if we don't stop putting carbon into the atmosphere. They will allocate MORE money instead of cutting funds for warming research and we will soon have to buy carbon credits to use the bathroom.

As a conservative...

As a conservative I've got to tell you a little something about Sarah Palin. When she first came out in last year's campaign I was a fan. It was hard not to be. She was pretty, conservative, a governor, and running on the republican ticket for VP. What could be wrong about that.

The media hated her and that was all the more reason to jump behind her. When the whole campaign closed in around her and they lost, I convinced myself that her problem was McCain's people telling her what to say and when. Now that we're clear of the campaign and she can make her own decisions, it's a little more obvious what's actually going on.

Sarah is coming on a book tour to Roanoke this weekend. One year ago I would have been jumping at the chance to go see her. In fact, when she came to Salem during the campaign I was all about it. But this year, not so much. I don't think Sarah Palin is smart enough to be a good politician. I don't think she has the experience to run the country. We've seen what no experience means in the White House and we don't want more of that. I worry that it will take too long for other Republicans to figure this out. If she wins the primary, we've got no chance. NONE. All I can hope for is someone else to come along. Nobody is really standing out at this point except for her, and that could be the end of our hopes to get Obama out in three years.

Blue Ridge Bike Fest

It has been an awesome three years at Sponsor Hounds and things are really cranking into gear. The Blue ridge Bike Fest in April of next year is going to be really great. Our first year drew around 8,000 people and we're working on doubling that for 2010. Dokken and Great White will be playing in the coliseum and we've got stunt shows, a bikini contest, more bands and more vendors for next year. This is going to be crazy. Click Here for more info about the show.

Rainy day

Christmas music is great around Christmas. It's a little early for me but on a rainy day like this it's perfect. Who doesn't love driving around in the rain and listening to some old Christmas hits on Q99? I know it's before Thanksgiving and that most people aren't in the Christmas mood yet...but days like this make it worth listening to.

Guess Who's Back

Well...maybe not. I had this website just forwarded to a page that had links to my Facebook and Myspace pages but for some reason it stopped sending. I always say I'd like to get this thing up and running again, but then I don't. The constraints of time I guess. Anyway. I may start posting again, not that anyone really checks this page anymore, but I always enjoy writing about what's going on.
