Me, On The Air And Off
So just minutes ago I got a call from one of my ex-girlfriends. She said I talked about her parents on the radio. Since she is going to school out of state, the only reason she could have known what I said is through someone else...But that's beside the point. She didn't want me to talk about her parents on the air.
The quote just for the sake of putting it out there was...
"I dated a Mormon one time, I don't think her parents liked me because I wasn't Mormon."Talking about her parents? Yes. Giving names, addresses, phone numbers? No.
So the question is will I stop talking about her parents. No. Why would I? I didn't say anything to identify them to the listeners and I didn't say anything that was untrue or negative about them.
Let me tell you a little about radio. The broadcast won't be good if I don't put myself out there. Almost every embarrassing and special moment. The ex-girlfriend I'm speaking of was a part of my life. Her parents were a part of my life. If we bring up a topic about girlfriend's parents well guess what? If I have something that relates to the topic and it involves her parents, you're damn right I'm going to talk about them again.
The lesson here is not to censor everything you say around me. There is a limit, it's just close to the ceiling. I will use my entire life on the radio. If you're a part of my life and you're interesting, chances are you'll be on the radio too.
To the ex's parents...Sorry you didn't like being talked about on the radio...Hope you feel better about it the next time I do.
Now How about you post a comment? Please.
