Druggie Idol
It came out today that American Idol finalist Bo Bice was once arrested for felony cocaine possession. He got out of the charge by going through a "diversion program" for first time offenders. What the hell is going on with this years contestants?

Bo Bice demonstrating how big the bag of Coke was.
Bo says on the Idol website that his most embarrassing moment was when he fell off stage during a show. I wonder why he fell.
It seems that Idol just can't find anymore people with good voices that don't have criminal records. Check out The Smoking Gun for more details.

even more reason he should win! Smelly, you think any of those artist you play on the radio put some stuff up their noses? I would bet over half! So, this is even one more reason Bo is a Rock Star!
Captain
50 Cent isn't on a TV show aimed to kids.
It's a singing competition! I wouldn't say it is aimed at kids at all. I don't think fiddy is aimed at kids....but they DO listen to him! When I think of all my favorite musicians... Metallica, Ozzy, Jimmy Buffett. I have no doubt they all have and probably regularly used cocaine at some point in their lives. Who cares?
Captain
Sorry Captain, you're kidding yourself if you think American Idol is an adult based show. The average age of the people in the audience has to be around 18. That means half of those people are under that age...KIDS.
Look at Kelly Clarkson. It's mostly kids buying her album...Why? Because they heard about her on AI.
Smells
wrong, I know a bunch of people my age and old ladies that watch AI. There is no way the average age is 18. And if it is... 18 is an adult.
All that I'm saying is that if I voted I would vote on one question. Do I like the way the person sings? I don't care what smoking gun has to say about anyone. For the record I think anyone who touches Cocaine is an idiot. I wouldn't take advice from them, but I would listen to their music.
Dubya has a DUI. Does that bother you?
Ford would not sponsor a kiddie show.
Damn it Captain...A DUI is not Cocaine, and it wasn't a year ago!
And YES Ford would sponsor a kiddie show because their parents are watching with them. Remember, I said AVERAGE age of 18...or less.
This contest is not only singing. It is about finding a singer who can appeal to kids in this country and get them to buy the person's CD. There's no way more parents buy the CD's than kids do.
You don't think Dubya experimented with cocaine?
Why didn't you call me for the MDA thing????
if parents are watching with their kids there is NO way the average age could be 18. You think about everyone who watches they show and it would be mathematically impossible for the average age to be 18. Do you think any 1 years olds watching? As I said before if it was only kids watching Ford would not be a sponsor.
The MDA Lock-Up isn't until next Wednesday.
You know, everyone has problems. Can you honestly say you don't? Every Monday we are regaled with tales of your weekend debauchery. Maybe you have problem with alcohol. As a matter of fact, just recently, it was discussed on the Morning Thang that maybe you are an alcoholic. And don't children listen to the Morning Thang? Isn't there a contest called Win Danny's Lunch Money? Can we say the word hypocrite?
Our show is aimed at people age 18 - 34.
18-34...therein lies the problem with your argument. The legal age to purchase and consume alcohol in the Commonwealth of Virginia is 21. And as for the comment that 50 Cent isn't on a show for kids, tell me what MTV's age demographic is?
by the way...18 year olds are considered adults. I don't have a problem talking about alcohol around them.
And about your MTV comment. Ok...I have a problem with that too. But their ratings stink...unlike AI.

According to the LA Times, the target demographic for American Idol is ages 18-34.
It is a very sad when someone judges a person for past mistakes. I work at a correctional facility and feel that when an offender's time is served their debt to society is paid. They should not have to continually answer for thier past mistakes.
Dont you people have anything better to do than judge someone else. We have ALL made mistakes in life. I know I have, and the last thing I want is someone to judge me on them. How bout you? Making mistakes is how a person learns. So take a good look in the mirror, and ask yourself if you are in any position to judge someone else. I mean really. Give me a break!!!!
Continuation of the previous post. While we are at it, why dont we all take the time to deficate on Paula Abdul's hit and run charge, because it is obvious to me that none of us have better things to do with our time, but to sit around and judge like we are God's. Or maybe the rest of you people are just "perfect." Damn what I wouldnt give to be you
Making mistakes is how people learn. I agree. But people also have to pay the consequences. And one of those consequences for a person who does drugs is that they shouldn't be held up as an idol for children.
valid points all around. I agree that if someone pays a debt to society that they should be given the chance to try again. I also agree that a large portion of viewers are probably 18 or under ... however .. if the -network- knows that and continues to "back" its participants then thats something that should be taken up w/ them .. as for the dubya comment ..*snicker* .. yeah too funny .. but .. we're comming into an age that you're going to be hard pressed to find a politician w/o a "colorful" past. what was considered youth indescretions then vs. now are decades apart. So .. I'd rather have a pres that admits is faults, grew up, developed a lifes plan and followed through w/ it .... having said that (oo a paula moment) why wouldnt the same be allowed for someone who made a similar mistake ..and wants to take on a position in life far less "important" re: my every day life.
Good for Bo.
WE LOVE LOVE LOVE BO BICE , We think he rocks and he is cute as HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh you guys. how you -do- go on. I take back what I previously said re: the responsibilities of the show ... and the pres and goals and blah blah ...after reading this and the 12 yr olds that have been left to run verbally amuck...id say that hes made a bigger impression than I could have ever imagined on the little coke snorting XXXXXXXXX. No offence kids. But you might want to back up offa the white ghost and turn off the TV. judging from your -over- enthusiasm id say its time for some nyqual and a good nap.

all you guys are stupid im sure you don't have a quarter of the talent bo does i mean everybody makes mistakes in life and just because he's on tv doesn't mean he's gonna be a perfect angel after all he is a rocker so spend a little bit more time worrying about your own life and not celebrities lifes because when it comes down to it you are just jealolus that they are succesful and you are a nothing so you try to pick out every little thing wrong with them just to make your pathetic little self esteem better
oh and all of you guys that were nice yall are cool i wasn't talkin about you
who give a fuck if he did some coke who hasen't
