Summertime Blues
Is it like this for everyone? That summer is great in the spring...but once the spring is over...so is summer.
I'll explain.
The anticipation of June through August was great in March and April. I couldn't wait until it was 90 degrees and I could head out on the lake with friends. We went out a couple times in those two months but it wasn't the same as those hot summer days. But when summer came...so did the obligations.
Maybe it's just the radio business but I have so many things to do on weekends now that I can't go to the lake. I am tired from work on the weekend nights and I just want to sleep.
Now it feels like the summer is over. I have plans that don't include the lake every weekend day for the next month. Fall will be here soon and I'll probably have time to do some fun things then, but what the hell happened to summer?

Dont stress it too much. I live at the lake and dont have time to hit the water during the summer. Just feel better knowing that even once fall comes it takes the water quite some time to cool down. Besides, the fall on the lake has the beauty of the leaves changing color added to it. Find a spot in your calender right now thats open and just do it. Take no one but yourself and your girlfriend and enjoy the peacefulness while it last. :)
I live RIGHT NEXT to the ocean, as in I CAN SEE IT FROM MY WINDOW and I've only been swimming once this year. So yes Smells, it's the radio buisness. But hey, we work in radio... if things we have to complain about is "we don't have enough time to swim" then our lives can't be too bad :) email me sometime, it would be great to hear from you. shawn@wjse.com
That's OK smelly. September and October are two of my favorite months on the lake. Great for Camping and you know the Barge Inn is open year round G!
When you see the beauty of the snowy banks on SML, you will poo poo!

I feel your pain. I worked in radio for a long time.. in fact, I worked at K92 for a while.
I remember back in the days when I was first starting I was putting in some MAJOR weekend hours. It totally sucked.
At least you are working for Kevin Scott and not Russ Brown. Always remember, it could be much, much worse.
Hey Jack Doyle! We both road the same school bus back in Jr. High. Do you remember Verna Haskins? Check out my website at www.bargeinn.net
