Dear Kanye West,
In the middle of preaching about how long it's taken President Bush to get to New Orleans to help the people hit hard by Hurricane Katrina, You admitted that you have not yet given a penny of your own money to the effort. You are an ignorant hypocrite that has no right to criticize the way this disaster is being handled.
President Bush does not hate black people. He IS doing all he can right now. You are coming down on the president without doing a damn thing yourself. You didn't help raise money for hurricane relief one bit on Friday night because 90 percent of America turned away after you spoke.
You honestly believe that President Bush told the soldiers to go down to new Orleans and shoot black people? You honestly believe that America is set up to help poor and black people as slow as possible? This is a nation of love and compassion for all and if you don't see that every day, then your head is too far up your own ass to know the real America!

Do you actually think that he would take time out of his busy schedule to actually read that letter written? i do think so. when you can start to understand how the world works, then you can comment on it. when it takes 5 days to get help to people in a country that has all the riches in the world, there is something wrong with the management. i understand that maybe you live breathe and shit mr. bush, but i don't and right now most of the usa doesn't either. when "we" asked for the national guard to come in, "we" didn't have them here because they are over fighting in a war that doesn't need to be happening. i'm not anti-war for things that are believed in and SUPPOSED to be happening, but the usa is over there killing innocent people for what? nothing. now dont' get all political on me. we both know that neither one of us will win in the war against arguments. what i'm saying is, EVERY AMERICAN HAS THE FREEDOM TO SAY WHAT THEY WANT. that's why it's america buddy. you may not agree with kanye west's statements. It was too hard for him to watch. it's too hard for me to watch. i've seen pictures of babies being pulled lifeless out of water, men and women who can't find their families, and the distruction of that area. i am not insensitive to it. what he's saying is, that 75% of people in new orleans are poor black people. so that shows him that no one cares about the poor people of america. the governer there authorized her people to SHOOT TO KILL. yes there are some crazy people, but when a poor black woman is trying to get bottled water so that her baby can live, THAT my dear sir is NOT how america is run. i see more death and poverty on the news than i do good. so when is it going to change? those people that didn't send their money because ONE PERSON voiced his opinion are screwed up. HE'S not the voice of the hungry/dying people in america. so give him a break. instead, maybe do something instead of getting angry at this one man. he realized his mistake by not doing something about it sooner. and now he's full force into it. maybe you should do the same. open your eyes. it's not all about one thing.

If we want to talk about what should have happened, let's not point a finger at President Bush who is now in the process of cleaning everything up. Let's point a finger at the mayor of New Orleans who could have done something.
The mayor SHOULD HAVE done something sooner. The mayor COULD HAVE brought busses in to the city to cart everyone out of there in droves.
Now that we're in this hole...do you think money solves all? Like we throw twenty billion dollars at this mess and all of the sudden everyone is out of there? There are people shooting at the rescue helecopters. There is not much that could have been done sooner. If it was fat white rich people trapped in New Orleans because they didn't get out before the storm, they would still be there five days later.
Yes, everyone has the right to say what they want. And they also have the right to be wrong. I'm just pointing out that Kanye West was.
As for me doing something to help...maybe you should read the post below the one about Kanye.
i did not say one word in this comment about mr. bush. i said there's something wrong with the management. and it wasn't the mayor, it was the governor.

Why do we have to have someone to blame this problem for? This was a natural disaster that no one could of prepared for. Yes there were evacuations but New Orleans has a 72 hour evacuation plan. They were giving less notice that that.
To blame Bush for any of this is stupid. This country has turned into a country of "what are you going to do for me" not "what can I do for my neighbor". It is time for people to take responsablity for there actions.
First of all, CONGRATS and an amazing thanks for those down there on raising over 500,000 dollars for relief. That was amazing. We don't have the power of Wheeler stations so we only raised 20,000 dollars. It was at a car wash, but it was only over 4 hours so I guess that's not bad, anything helps. On the race subject. I don't think it was a race matter, BUT if it was fat rich white people, they would've been out of there quicker than 5 days. That's just a comman fact. A sad one, but a fact. The National Guard would not let people out of the areas of the convention center/Superdome. They caged them in. They wouldn't let them walk out. Wouldn't let them walk over the bridge to towns that have help/water. Because they were poor people in a desperate situation and they were scared what they might do. We didn't communicate. It wouldn't of hurt anyone and would've helped so much to just send one banner plane over the city to let people know someone was coming to help them. I don't think anyone in this country could imagine being as out of modern contact, hungry, dirty, hot, and angry as they were. Can anyone really imagine what THEY would do 4 days into it. 4 days with no water, food, 4 days with no change of underwear/clothes, 4 days of sleeping on the same waste filled, odor of death filled street. Seeing all these people watching you die and doing nothing about it. Or atleast not looking like they were doing anything about it. Then the presidency says that they were 24 hours too late on response. TWENTY FOUR HOURS. Some, in fact most, say "that's not long, it's only 24 hours". YOU GO HUNGRY FOR 3 DAYS and try waiting 24 MORE hours. But these people didn't know they only had 24 more hours b/c NO ONE said anything to them. Those at fault here are the Mayor, the Governor, AND the President, EVERY branch of government failed these people. The President could've stepped up after the first or even the second day and said "Look, I'm making this right". He's the freakin' president. The state of LA asked for financing to fix and update the levy's and the Bush Admistration has kept saying no since 2000. But the previous blogger was right when they said this isn't about blame. But a person has to be culturally blind to see that this situation wouldn't of been COMPLETELY different if New Orleans high society was stuck. There are so many more opinions I have, but I know Smells doesn't like to hear them :)

kanye west simply sais what too many people are too chicken- shit to say. we are one of the wealthiest countries in the world and it doesn't take 5 days to get resources down to those. obviously, there's a problem going on with the head honcho. maybe he's too busy rigging elections to do anything about the gulf zone, or maybe he's plotting on making the gas prices go sky high again, either way, he's an asshole, and Kanye, well, Kanye has a lot balls, and if he ran for president, he would get my vote!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoever has been praising Kanye West is just as ignorant as Kanye. He or she must not see reality at all. Yes, 5 days may have been too long, but did we or anyone else for that matter really expect all the devastation. There were plans in place as far as backup systems pumping out water if the power had gone out. That failed, so how was anyone able to know what kind of devastation would have happened. Could the "anonymous" piece of shit arrange millions of tons of supplies for the people who couldn't get out of New Orleans in less than 5 days. I doubt it, everything takes time, it is just unfortunate and a shame that so many people have died and have nothing. We should all look at ourselves and realize how fortunate we all are to be where were at right now. Let's quit blaming everyone else, and see what we can do to help. Smelly Kat, Danny, and Zack and the rest of the Roanoke Valley stepped up and helped raise over $500,000. That is incridable, and there is someone bitching about who is to blame, give me a break.

P.S. Bush STAYED on vacation during the beginning of this mess. A vacation that was 5 weeks long, and only 3.5 months after his other 5 week vacation. I mean even the Mornin' Thang would've gave up the vacation time to help with the situation. You would think the President would give up the last 3 days of a 5 week vacation. I don't think we should blame someone, but this government is about to spend A LOT of money and time on an investigation that isn't needed. if MAYBE, just maybe, a government official will step up and say "HEY, it's my fault."
