Blogging for Life

It's come to my attention this week that there is a child in our area that needs some help. His name is Ian Herbst and he needs a life saving liver transplant.

Ian was born with a disease called Biliary Atresia. What that means is that he's got a blockage between his liver and his intestines. That results in his liver being totally ruined and the only thing that can save him is to do a quick operation.

HOW YOU CAN HELP!

To raise funds for Ian there are several events coming up, those are listed below. Also the organizers are collecting used cell phones. If you'd like to help call Michelle Hartz at 800.366.2682.

May 16, 2006 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm - Make & Take Stamp Event (Radford Rec Center)

May 20, 2006 from 7:00am to ? - Garage Sale (Central United Methodist Church, Radford)

June 30, 2006 - Golf Tournament sponsored by CCS (Auburn Hills, Radford)

Thanks

Hi - I used to live in Roanoke, my niece has biliary atresia as well, and we have old cell phones..I'll call the 1-800 #. Also, they are welcome on www.liverfamilies.net anytime - an international online support group for families dealing with pediatric liver disease.
